Limestone quarry benches against the Hajar mountains

About Us

An Omani mining company built for the long term

ALTAIF Mining is developing one of the Sultanate's most significant limestone and calcium carbonate projects, turning the mineral wealth of Wilayat Dhank into products trusted by industries worldwide.

Who We Are

From a rich deposit to a dependable industrial partner

The mountains of Ad Dhahirah hold some of the purest limestone in the region. ALTAIF Mining was established to develop this resource responsibly — not simply to extract rock, but to build a complete value chain: quarrying, crushing, fine grinding, quality control, packing and export logistics under one management.

Our customers are manufacturers of paint, plastics, paper, rubber, glass, steel and construction materials. What they need from a mineral supplier is simple to state and hard to deliver: consistent chemistry, consistent particle size, and reliable supply. The entire project is engineered around those three promises.

Our Vision

To be a leading source of high-purity industrial minerals from the Sultanate of Oman, recognised globally for quality and reliability.

Our Mission

To develop Oman’s limestone resources responsibly, delivering consistent products, supporting local communities and creating lasting value for our partners.

The Project

Wadi Dhank quarry and processing complex

The project is being developed in stages, from quarry to a fully integrated processing complex serving domestic and export markets.

  1. 1

    Exploration & licensing

Geological surveys and drilling campaigns confirmed extensive reserves of high-purity limestone in the Wadi Dhank area — a two-square-kilometre concession with CaCO₃ content of up to 96.12% and an estimated quarry life of more than thirty years.

  2. 2

Phase one — Quarry & crushing

Bench development and a crushing and screening plant with a capacity of 30,000 tonnes per day, producing sub base, base course, aggregates, crusher run and fill material for the construction sector.

  3. 3

Phase two — GCC plant & laboratory

A ground calcium carbonate facility with a capacity of 6,000 tonnes per day: multiple grinding lines, coating capability, storage silos, robotic packing and palletising, and a fully equipped quality control laboratory.

  4. 4

Phase three — Expansion & specialty grades

Capacity expansion and entry into the most demanding segments — pharmaceutical and food grade calcium carbonate — alongside growing export volumes through Sohar Port to the Gulf, Asia, Africa and beyond.

How We Work

The principles behind the project

Quality without compromise

Every production batch is tested in our on-site laboratory. Consistency is what our customers build their own processes on, and we treat it as non-negotiable.

Safety first

From the quarry face to the packing line, our operations are planned around the health and safety of our people and contractors.

Responsible operations

We manage dust, water and land with care, rehabilitate as we mine, and design our plant for efficient use of energy and resources.

Value for Oman

The project creates skilled employment in Ad Dhahirah, develops local suppliers and adds a new export industry — in step with Oman Vision 2040.

Sustainability

Mining responsibly, from day one

Sustainability is designed into the project rather than added afterwards. These are the practices we hold ourselves to across the quarry and plant.

Dust control

Enclosed transfer points, water suppression and filtration systems across the crushing and grinding circuits.

Water recycling

Process water is captured, treated and reused, minimising draw on local resources.

Energy efficiency

Modern, energy-efficient grinding technology and progressive adoption of renewable power.

Rehabilitation & greening

Progressive rehabilitation of worked-out benches and tree planting around the site perimeter.

Health & safety

A safety management system covering everyone on site, from induction through daily toolbox talks.

Community responsibility

Local hiring and procurement first — the project supports around 850 direct and indirect jobs.

Investment & Partnership

A project built for strategic partners

With a thirty-plus year quarry life, integrated processing and logistics access to Gulf and international markets, the project offers long-term supply security for off-takers and a strong platform for investors. The feasibility study projects annual revenue of OMR 80–120 million at full capacity.

We welcome discussions with off-take partners, distributors, logistics providers and institutional investors. The full feasibility study and project profile are available to qualified parties under confidentiality.
